Born in Toronto, Canada, Ike worked at the legendary Larrabee Studios, a mixing centric SSL based studio in North Hollywood, with an industry wide reputation for developing impeccable world-class engineers. Schultz was selected as one of only two outside hires in the history of Larrabee Studios for the position. Ike directly assisted nine-time Grammy award winning mixer Manny Marroquin for 3 years.

“The one thing about Larrabee is we’ve always had the greatest engineers here – from David Bianco, to Sylvia Massy. Mick Guzauski was a tech here – it feels like everyone has come through here, from Dave Pensado to the Dexter Simmons’ of this world.”

- Manny Marroquin

Schultz recalls, “Working at Larrabee for that long, exposed me to thousands of records at the highest level of craftsmanship and musicianship. The skill, attention to detail, pace, and most importantly, passion required to operate at that level challenged me to become better as a mixer, engineer, and musician. The experience was life changing, I use what I learned there every day.

After leaving Larrabee Studios in 2016, Ike went on to mix Lizzo’s debut release on Nice Life/Atlantic, Coconut Oil, executively produced by Nice Life founder Ricky Reed during his residency at S.K.A.M. Studios – working on the title track along with the majority of the album including the singles Phone and Good As Hell.

During the next few years at S.K.A.M. Studios, he engineered for DJ Felli Fel, while continuing to mix & record music for Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty, Whethan, DRAM, Imad Royal, and Post Malone.

Afterwards, Schultz mixed and contributed as a songwriter for multiple feature films for Paramount Pictures’ music department, and began working with GRAMMY Award winning producer and engineer Chris Testa for the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), MTV, Facebook, and Buzzfeed.

In 2018, Ike Schultz became the engineer/vocal producer for Multi Platinum & Emmy Nominated recording artist Tinashe. He recorded & mixed her fourth studio album Songs for You in 2019, which became the first independently released #1 album on iTunes in the US since Frank Ocean’s Blonde in 2016.

At the 63rd GRAMMY Awards, BUBBA by KAYTRANADA won a GRAMMY for 'Best Dance/Electronic Album' and a Juno Award for ‘Dance Recording of the Year’ in 2021.

At the 65th GRAMMY Awards, Ike received a nomination for ‘Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical’ (Adolescence - BAYNK)
